CFF and IFAD co-hosts meeting on Dietary Diversification to address Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger

Crops For the Future (CFF) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), with the support of the Association of International Research and Development Centers for Agriculture (AIRCA), will co-host a meeting on the role of Dietary Diversification in addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2): Zero Hunger in Rome on 4 & 5 September 2017.

The two-day meeting is part of on-going efforts of the Global Action Plan for Agricultural Diversification (GAPAD) – an initiative spearheaded by CFF - to emphasise the role of agricultural diversification in achieving five of the 17 SDGs. The main priority of this meeting will be to discuss the role of dietary diversification in achieving specific targets of SDG2.

The meeting will be attended by nutrition experts from various research and agricultural centres. This follows last year’s successful GAPAD SDG2 Roundtable Forum where over 40 participants across 14 countries discussed how agricultural diversification can contribute to achieving SDG2.
